Battery Charger Product Highlights

The SENS LCs are designed primarily for battery backup application. The LC battery charger is used for recharging and maintaining industrial batteries, typically for engine starting / gensets

LC battery chargers offer accurate, completely automatic charging of lead-acid and nickel-cadmium batteries. Unlike unregulated "battery boilers" or poorly regulated ferro-resonant chargers, the LC's output voltage automatically adjusts to changing input, load, battery and ambient conditions. The result is fast battery charging without overcharging and consequent loss of battery electrolyte.

The LC's 2-rate charging offers faster battery recharge than single-rate chargers with higher amp ratings. Standard LC features include AC line compensation, precision voltage regulation, current limiting, automatic 2-rate charging, ammeter and temperature compensation.

Output
12, 24, 36 and 48 volts nominal. Adjustable float voltage. Boost voltage is fixed at approximately 5% above float voltage. 3.5 amps maximum current. 2.3 amps maximum for 48-volt units.

Output Voltage Regulation
+1% of the correct temperature-compensated value from no load to full load with simultaneous variations in input voltage of 10% and frequency of 5%.

AUTOBOOST
After a battery has been discharged or when AC power is restored following a power failure, the charger operates in the high-rate constant current mode until the battery voltage rises to the pre-set boost level. Once this boost level is reached, the charger operates in constant voltage boost mode until the battery's current acceptance falls to less than 70% of the charger's rated output. The charger then reverts to the lower float voltage, where it operates until another battery discharge or AC failure.

Temperature Compensation
All batteries have a negative temperature coefficient. SENS LC is equipped with temperature compensation to assure correct charging in all conditions.
